The Council of East and Central Africa Football Association (CECAFA) wish to take this opportunity to inform you that the 2010 CECAFA Kagame club cup tournament will take place in Rwanda May 15 – 19, 2010.

A total of 12 teams have confirmed their participation in the two week event. CECAFA has the pleasure to inform you that we had a lot of clubs across the continent who showed interest to participate in the KAGAME CUP 2010, but due to logistical issues we had to whittle them down.

In this regard, we considered TP Mazembe of DRC who will be participating for the second time and Heartland FC of Nigeria who will be making their debut.

At the same time, we wish to inform you that the Government of Rwanda and local Sponsors in Kigali will undertake a full sponsorship of the championship to the tune of ONE MILLION Dollars (Kshs 78 million). This amount will cover Air tickets for all teams, referees and officials, accommodation and the prize money.

We wish to take this opportunity once again to thank our patron H.E President Paul Kagame for supporting us for the last 15 years and giving CECAFA a life line in running it’s programmes.
