The president of the world’s highest football governing body FIFA Joseph S. Blatter has lauded for the successful end of Somali football election, which took place in the volatile Mogadishu on Monday 19th of July 2010.
“Dear SFF president following your election to the presidency of Somali football federation, I would like to extend to you my sincerest congratulations for this achievement as well as my best wishes of success at the helm of Somalia’s football for the years to come” FIFA president said in his congratulator letter to the president-elected of Somali football federation.
“Your long experience in the pyramid of Somali football undoubtedly constitute a huge asset to continue accomplishing the exciting and complex mission” said the FIFA presidential statement which was distributed to the media by SFF on Thursday.
For the challenges ahead, FIFA president wished Somali football boss strength, health and all the success. “I am convinced that you will continue to preserve and defend the value of our game for the society with the same determination as you did in the past,” the statement added.
Somalia has been with out a functioning central government for the past 20 years during which all-governmental institutions were destroyed, but the football federation has been Somalia’s flag bearer succeeding to raise the Somali flag over international football gatherings. |
