Atraco (Rwanda) 1 - Simba (Tanzania) 2 Musa Hassan Mgosi scored an 88th minute penalty to help Dar es Salaam Simba Sports Club of Tanzania to a 2-1 victory over defending champions Atraco of Rwanda on Day Three of The Cecafa Club Championship. The match played at the Nyamirambo Stadium in Kigali saw Simba international goalkeeper Juma Kaseja parry off a Mike Ssebaringa 12th minute penalty to keep his side in contention. The defending champions, enjoying home support found themselves down when new Simba recruit Robert Ssentongo from Uganda scored with a pile drive from a free-kick on the half hour. Atraco’s Ugandan tactician Sam Timbe adjusted his side for the second half resting Jean Lomami for brother Andre, a move that lifted the team’s attack. They were rewarded in the 67th minute when Almasi Kadogo slammed home via the woodworks after an earlier shot by Yahya Sseburungo ricocheted off the posts. With Mike Baraza and Jabir Azir now on for Simba, the Dar side intensified pressure resulting in the penalty that Mgosi slammed home past keeper Ganza Alexis in the Atraco goal.
